The school partners with Carter BloodCare to allow students the opportunity to make a change for their community by giving blood.
Having access to sufficient quantities of blood along with the varying types, provides resources for transfusions which helps save lives. Carter BloodCare emphasizes its goal, saying they “save lives by making transfusion possible” by making it easy to collaborate with schools, businesses and places of worship.
“Each year, we rely on students like you to contribute nearly 25% of our annual donations,” said a statement on carterbloodcare.org “Your blood donation is vital to saving the lives of neighbors and friends.”
Carter shows their value for student donors, and students express their value for the cause.
“I’m giving back to the community… it’s a nice feeling,” said donor senior Aditya Gupta.
Donating blood can help save lives, and it is a way for youth to make a difference and give back to the community.
“The reason I did this is because I am really interested in medical and health,” said HOSA member junior Meghana Kavala. “I just like to spread awareness and help people.”
