On Friday, Aug. 18, the varsity football team played against McKinney North in their last scrimmage before the start of the regular season. The scrimmage ended with a 7-7 tie. In the Texas 5A-1 division, McKinney North ranks 27 compared to Frisco’s rank of 44.
During the controlled portion of the scrimmage, McKinney North scored on Frisco gaining a 7 point lead. The Raccoons did not score in the controlled portion of the game. However, they were able to end the scrimmage in a tie during the last play of the live quarter by kicking the PAT.
Highlights from the scrimmage include a forced fumble on defense from junior Ian Staley and a touchdown thrown by sophomore Cobyn Harbert to sophomore Jackson Voris.
“Kam Pendergraph and Jayson Bustamante had some nice runs,” head coach Jeff Harbert said.
The football team will face White Settlement Brewer this Thursday, Aug. 23 for their first official game of the season.
