The PJ Project, a pajama drive benefiting children in foster care, is being carried out by the Stars dance team in partnership with Dallas Court Appointed Special Advocates (Dallas CASA).

“I think it’s important because it’s an opportunity [for students] to look beyond themselves and see a greater need for the community,” Stars director Bethany Tomlin said.

The Stars are in charge of collecting donations. Distribution will be managed by Dallas CASA.  

“We will hand [the pajamas] off to the company, and they’ll do it from there,” Tomlin said.

Tomlin sees the project as a way for students to support others and work with community organizations. 

“It’s a really amazing first-hand experience to give back to the community and support those who are in need with things that we can provide them,” Tomlin said. “It’s also a cool opportunity for high school students to be able to work with people beyond just their peers.”

Students looking to support the project can find a donation box in the dance classroom through Dec. 8.  “I hope they feel loved, encouraged and supported by a group of people,” Tomlin said. “It’s really cool that the Stars can come together and be that for someone.”
